Who we Are

Jagaran Nepal, purely youth run and led organization, established in 2003, is officially registered at the District Administrative Office, Makawanpur. It is a group of young professionals having extensive experiences, proven skills and knowledge on various contemporary issues of development. Since establishment, it has been empowering youths to participate in glocal issues and worked in the encouragement of youths engaging them in every possible way to enlighten the society, dump and eradicate social evils and accelerate the humanitarian ethos, feelings of brotherhood and social harmony to restore peace and stability. We believe in urgent action, innovation and necessity of transformation.

🎯 Our Objectives

  • Conduct community/school programs to prevent drug and alcohol use among youth.
  • Run youth empowerment programs.
  • Support local governments and civic societies in capacity building.
  • Promote environmental conservation and rural development.
  • Provide skill trainings and promote micro-enterprises for sustainable livelihood.
  • Raise awareness on human rights violations and responsibilities.
  • Empower women and girls against domestic violence, trafficking, and exploitation.
  • Uplift living standards of marginalized children and ensure access to education.
  • Conduct self-employment skill-building programs for youth.
  • Raise awareness about HIV/AIDS and other STDs.
  • Organize sector-specific activities in education, health, agriculture, etc.
  • Preserve and promote traditional religion and culture.

📍 Working Area

We operate primarily in Makawanpur and all over Nepal, and abroad as needed.

📚 Our Experience

  • Developed “Child Marriage Elimination Strategy” for municipalities in Sindhuli, Achham, Kailali.
  • Conducted 5-day TOT for CDPS and World Vision International staff under PAWER Project on CBCPM.
  • Facilitated training on child protection, life skills, advocacy, report/proposal writing, etc., in multiple districts.
  • Surveyed adolescent knowledge and behavior on Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH).
  • Implemented SRH Education Program in Makawanpur with support from ADRA Nepal.
